Your project has gained planning approval but a condition has been set that requires an element of supervision by an arboricultural consultant. This could be to oversee complex construction close to a tree or simply check that fencing has been erected around trees to protect them. Whatever the reason I can provide a competent presence and feed back to you and the local authority with evidence to support the discharge of the condition.
I regularly work on active construction sites and have a good working relationship with those on site. Health and Safety is an important consideration of this element of my work and I am CHaS registered and hold a CSCS card, I always have my full PPE in the boot of my car so if I ever need to quickly visit a site I can.
Site supervision by and arboricultural consultant is often recommended as part of an arboricultural method statement and I have been involved in many projects where I have written the method statement and provided the supervision on site to ensure it is followed. I have been involved with developers, rail companies and utility providers in some challenging projects that posed many hurdles to overcome in terms of reaching the site aims and minimising tree impacts.
Last year I oversaw the installation of a crest drain next to a line of mature protected trees (within 1.5m!). We achieved installation by a combination of plant excavation, hand digging, air spade excavation and careful planning. I supervised the works and managed to retain roots so that tree stability was not unduly compromised.
